Kathryn Thomas is a lecturer currently at the Medical campus of University of Pretoria and finishing up my PhD in clinical anatomy this year. I have written multiple peer review articles on AI and other fields of diagnostic imaging and breast cancer, which is my field of expertise. I have a big passion for teaching students and love inspiring them to do great things in their future professional careers

I have a passion for breast cancer education, and started a NPO in 2015 with 40 women and has now skyrocketed into over 200K women on our digital platform and over 125 volunteers having been educated and supported through their own diagnosis. I started the AI algorithm concept as part of my PhD thesis two years ago, and this led to MedSol AI, which is a AI and DML company focusing on early detection at a price which decentralizes the current diagnostic infrastructure in SA which is lacking in support and appropriate infrastructure nationwide.

We have been fortunate enough to have funding from TIA, TIH, TWIGA, mLab and SAB to bring our concepts and dreams to a reality today and are hopeful our flagship product Breast AI will launch successfully in 2022.
